climbers reach new heights for The Dash Charity

25 brave climbers tackled the iconic O2 (millennium dome) on Sunday 13th September to raise funds for our refuge services. The adventurous participants, the youngest being 11 years old, took the challenge in their stride and were rewarded with the magnificent views the O2 has to offer. We had a variety of groups, from families to work colleagues. We even had our very own board member Allison!

The exciting event, which was the first of its kind for us, raised a phenomenal £5,000 and donations are still coming in. Every penny raised will go towards our refuge services, ensuring clients and their children receive the best support possible at the most challenging time for them.

“I‘m so glad I pushed myself to do it. Everything about the event was very well run and organised, from being greeted when we arrived at the O2 to being greeted at the end of the climb! I am so glad I took part in this event to raise much needed funds for such a worthwhile cause, and would like to say thank you so much to everyone who supported and encouraged me, and to Katie and the DASH team for encouraging me to take on this challenge!” Eunice Cubbage

“It was a pleasure to help, thoroughly enjoyed the day and the challenge” Pamela Tarrant, Segro.

inspiring women to be the best they can be

Vanessa Louise Moore has been supporting our Freedom Plus Programme for over a year. She inspires and motivates our clients to develop the skills to move on with their lives. She is a positive role model and totally committed to our cause.

Here is a comment from one of our clients after a recent session with Vanessa:

Amazing positive group meeting today. Feeling refreshed and in a much better mind set. Came across this beautiful white feather whilst walking through the park. Someone’s definitely looking out for me and leading me to a positive future and following the correct path way

dash accredited for its high quality services once again

dash has been commended for the outstanding quality of support that we offer.

This month we have received the ‘Leading Light’ accreditation of high quality services for Domestic Abuse from SafeLives.
SafeLives are an inspiring national charity dedicated to ending Domestic Abuse. This recognition for our outstanding services is only awarded to a small number of Domestic Abuse organisations across the country.

The accreditation is for the Advocacy & Outreach service that The Dash Charity provides, a much needed service particularly in Slough which has one of the highest rates of referrals across the Thames Valley with over 4000 reported cases last year.

Our Advocacy Service Manager, Claire Batchelor said ‘I am extremely proud that my team have received this recognition for the support that they provide to vulnerable victims of domestic abuse, it benchmarks our commitment to ensuring client need led support and safe practice is at the heart of our work’.
