The Dash AGM 2015

We were delighted to welcome guest speakers, Home secretary Theresa May & Fiona Mactaggart MP to our AGM in October along with around 100 other guests.

Alison Bourne, Trustee, opened the AGM by sharing a video of domestic abuse to raise awareness that domestic abuse isn’t only physical abuse and comes in many forms.

Jayne Donnelly, our Chief Executive, gave an update of the fantastic range of services of the Charity and the positive impact we have within our community.  Jayne also shared our concerns around funding and future sustainability and highlighted the prevalence and impact of domestic abuse in Slough & RBWM.

Home Secretary, Theresa May, spoke about central government plans to support charities and victims of domestic abuse including the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme and Go orders. Theresa thanked The Dash Charity for its work and commitment to supporting victims of Domestic Abuse in her constituency of Maidenhead.

Our Advocacy Deputy, Caron Kipping, shared a survivor’s story, which was really heartfelt and served as a reminder about the complexities of domestic abuse.

Fiona Mactaggart MP, shared what Slough as our local authority, will be doing to support victims of domestic abuse, and how discussions of distributing funds are taking place currently for the future financial year.  Fiona pledged her continuing support to The Dash Charity.
