This week The Dash Charity has received the fantastic news that they are to be proud recipients of a Reaching Communities grant awarded by Big Lottery Fund.
As part of the Reaching For Freedom project, The Dash Charity will be receiving £329,818 over three years, covering costs for three vital roles in the Advocacy & Outreach Team.
The Dash Charity’s Leading Lights Advocacy and Outreach Service was set up in 2008 and supports women and men experiencing domestic abuse within Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead and South Bucks. The team supports over 1000 victims each year offering practical advice and emotional support including safety planning, support through the Criminal Justice System, housing advice and adjusting to life without abuse. Victims that the charity works with can be living with or be separated from the perpetrator/s of domestic abuse. The Dash Charity provides a confidential service, empowering victims to make their own decisions with all the options available.
With 25% of the charities funding cut in 2012 this level of investment helps sustain the lifesaving services offered.
