“focus and hard work pays off” – by Rebecca Webb

I ran my first ever competitive race on Sunday 27th September. Thought I’d keep it simple and go for the Windsor Half Marathon…! J

It was a gorgeous sunny day, the park looked beautiful and the atmosphere was electric. I can really recommend it as a great family day out, even if you don’t fancy the jog around the park yourself!

At the beginning of this Year I was running no more than 4 to 5 miles at a struggle, but it was a personal pledge to myself, within the ‘Well-being’ part of my self-development, to be able to run 10 miles by the end of the year. This just shows what is possible when we really set our minds on something.

I finished in 2:12. Will be looking to smash that next time!!

Just want to say a massive thank you to those of you who got collared by PR Rep: Miss Hood at the conference and kindly sponsored me, raising over £100 for The Dash Charity, helping individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.)

Highlights of the day

  • Meeting Caroline Gel at the start line
  • I saw Chris Evans (and beat him )
  • Everyone was enjoying a Mars Bar after the race!
