How Can Training Help?
Domestic Abuse is everybody's business. Whether you are a colleague, an employer, a professional or a friend, someone you know will be experiencing domestic abuse.
Every contact with a victim of domestic abuse represents a chance for them to get help; and every chance that is missed leaves them at risk for longer. Research shows people experiencing domestic abuse regularly miss out on opportunities to get help. This can be due to a poor response when they make a disclosure, but they also experience a lack of proactive intervention – there are often failures to 'spot the signs' of domestic abuse or missed opportunities to ‘ask the question’. Even when domestic abuse is suspected or disclosed, there is often uncertainty about what to do next – who to refer to and a lack of knowledge about the help there is available.
The Dash Charity have supported victims of domestic abuse for over 42 years providing a range of services to both adults & children experiencing domestic abuse. Our organisation is recognised both locally & nationally, our trainers have a wealth of frontline experience and have won numerous awards including Inspiring Communicator at Charity Comms 2014. Our trainers regularly speak at local and national conferences and talks to raise awareness on all aspects of domestic abuse.
We offer bespoke training, tailored to your individual needs, objectives and time allowances and can offer training packages varying in length from a brief one hour 'Lunch and Learn' workshop where you learn to 'Spot the signs' of domestic abuse to a whole day learning package where you will have a full understanding of the topics covered. We bring a wealth of experience and frontline knowledge directly to you, to help you understand the complexities of domestic abuse, unhealthy relationships and the impact on children.
"Thanks to both of you for your teaching on Domestic Violence to our GP Trainees last week. The feedback scored a very high overall rating and all delegates found it really useful and enjoyable. We'll be in touch again for next year's trainees!"
Our bespoke approach to training ensures the sessions are relevant to your organisation - we have trained everyone from social work students to small business teams, voluntary groups, and corporates. If you want to ensure that your organisation, colleagues, customers and staff are providing the best response to safety in the workplace, please get in touch.
Funds raised through training go directly to support our frontline services. Please don't be offended but we do charge for our training - it takes time and effort to prepare, but it is competititively priced and worth it! If you are a smaller voluntary organisation, we understand the challenges of funding - don't let costs be a barrier to learning. Get in touch and we will see what we can do!
