New Specialist Domestic Abuse Role at Wexham Park Hospital

We are delighted to share that The Dash Charity has secured two years of funding for a specialist Domestic Abuse (DA) worker to be based at Wexham Park Hospital (WPH).

This crucial role will commence in January 2025, working within the hospital’s Safeguarding team to enhance support for patients and staff.

The DA worker will provide training to help hospital staff identify signs of domestic abuse, ensure that inpatients and outpatients are risk-assessed, and offer tailored support for those affected.

We’re excited to begin this important multi-agency collaboration within a healthcare setting, which will strengthen the safety net for survivors in our community.

Claire Batchelor, Advocacy & Outreach Services Manager at The Dash Charity, said:

“This new role is a fantastic opportunity to embed domestic abuse expertise within the hospital setting. By working closely with the Safeguarding team, we can ensure that staff feel confident in identifying and responding to domestic abuse, and that survivors receive the support they need when they need it most.”
