Volunteer With Us

Volunteering can make a real difference to your own life and the lives of those around you. There are so many ways to get involved.

As a growing organisation, our Fundraising Team needs new Volunteer Ambassadors to assist with a number of fundraising activities.

There is no such thing as a ‘typical volunteer’; we welcome people from all walks of life, and we benefit greatly from drawing on your skills and life experiences.  Whatever time you can give, we can find ways in which you can enrich our work.  All that we ask is that you are reliable, proactive and friendly – we want your time here to be as productive as possible, and we will support your personal development as much as we can.  After all, it’s people like you who make our work possible.

Without the help of volunteers, we simply would not be able to raise the vital funds needed to provide a range of confidential services to women, children and men experiencing domestic abuse.

We do get a lot of enquiries from people seeking experience in our Refuge environment, but we apologise that we are unable to allow volunteers to assist in these areas due to the strict confidentiality guidelines.

All volunteer roles will be with the fundraising team.

We require immediate support with the following

“I became a volunteer with the dash charity in order to help raise funds so that others like myself are able to be supported by this amazing life saving service. To know that you have helped in anyway to a charity that makes such a massive difference to the lives of domestic abuse victims is a truly a privilege. Please help save lives and become a Dash charity volunteer. We need the help of volunteers so that other domestic abuse victims can be saved everyday. You can make that difference, your time will change lives”

Our volunteer, Sara, pictured left, was the Highly Commended Volunteer of the Year for RBWM in 2018! Sara loved volunteering so much that she now works for us as a Refuge Independent Domestic Violence Advocate.

“What do I do to volunteer? Anything and everything I can do to help, from helping out at events when I am free; sorting through donations ready for refuge or fundraisers, Organising the amazon wish list and I have even made a vow to purchase something from the amazon list each month no matter what!

It makes me feel so good Inside and I like the feeling and knowing that I am helping out someone who is in a tough situation even though it is indirectly. The DASH charity is close to home for me and seeing the amazing work my mum does makes me want to help out as much as I can.

I think people should volunteer more as you can volunteer to suit your needs and you will feel so good about it! You don’t have to be a full time volunteer if it doesn’t suit your lifestyle you can help out as and when you can and everyone is so appreciative of your help as they do need it. The DASH ladies are a lovely bunch of people and it is fun and social, not boring like people think! All that plus good karma :)”
