Winter Campaign 2020

Winter Campaign 2020

How can you help The Dash Charity this Christmas?

A warm holiday wish from all at The Dash Charity! Today we launch our winter campaign. Domestic abuse has been one of the largest humanitarian issues throughout the coronavirus crisis, as so many people have been made vulnerable by being stuck in the house with abusers.

One woman is killed on average every four days by a current or former partner. But a shocking ten women and two children were killed in just the first two weeks of lockdown earlier this year.

We are hoping that you’ll join us in bringing some hope and light to the families in our community affected by this issue this Christmas. Our staff will be working up until the last minute for our clients – getting injunctions, sorting emergency housing and setting safety plans. We need your help to keep delivering these high quality and life-saving services.

We have 3 suggestions for you to get involved in this holiday season:

  • Help us decorate our Virtual tree! – Each bauble has meaning – a memory of a loved one, a message of support for their strength, a moment of triumph as a survivor.
  • Be a Xmas party hero – Your office holiday party is an expensive event (new outfit, taxis, booze, babysitter, food), why not donate that cost to The Dash Charity. You could organise a collection where you work?
  • Put a toy under the tree for a child who has experienced domestic violence. Often the smallest victims are the ones impacted the hardest. Ease a parent’s mind by buying a toy from our Amazon Wishlist:
